Judi and Dave at Lake Tahoe

Judi (February) and Dave          (1 May) retired in 2011 after spending the prior 2.5 years working in Kisumu, Kenya,     and (Dave) the prior 28 years working for the U.S. Army.  We don’t know how long this retirement will last but….

In the spring of 2011, fueled by tremendous support from Kensington, MD friends, we purchased a 2006 Roadtrek RS Adventurous mobile home, rented our house, slimmed down to the required possessions that fit snugly into our 22.5 foot vehicle, and are taking a year…? exploring the U.S. and perhaps beyond.  Through this travel blog, we aspire to keep our family and friends updated on our adventures. We look forward to visiting our sons in Stanford CA and Chicago, visiting long-time friends across the country, and to identifying optimal future retirement locations that best meet our dreams and lifestyle.  We are drawn to our National Parks, to their beautiful vistas and wildlife, and from our Kenyan safaris we have developed a greater appreciation for birding.
